Brujeria: A Mexican cartel mixing crime-tinged death metal with grindcore you want to cross paths with, "This is BRUCHERIA". Despite claims of cartel involvement, the band is actually a side project of metal and punk musicians who use this image for dramatic effect and satire. The band was formed in 1989. Their 1993 debut album, "Matando Güeros", marked the birth of their extreme image, and although it was initially a studio project, demand led to their first live performance in 1997. The album "Esto Es Brujeria", released in 2023, continues their still intense sound after thirty years, with topical and peppy lyrics. And the band returned to the stage even though 2024 was an unfortunate year for them - the unmasked Pinche Peach succumbed to heart health problems in July and not long after, in September, Juan Brujo, founder and lead singer, died of a heart attack.
